    On September 11, the 98th anniversary of Battle of Warsaw, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland held celebrations of the Polish Armed Forces Day.

    This year’s the Polish Armed Forces Day had a special character due to the 100th anniversary of regaining of independence of Poland celebrated this year. Year 1918 was also the year in which the Polish Air Force and Navy were established as separated forces.

     

    In his opening speech defense attaché Maj. Gen. Sławomir Kałuziński stressed the Polish commitment to solving the problems and challenges facing the modern world. He underlined that Poland, as a member of NATO and UE reaffirmed their commitment to ensure peace and stability in the world, as well as guarantees of mutual defence.

     

     The event organized by the Polish Defence Attache's Office was attended by numerous representatives of the military and civilian diplomatic corps accredited in Beijing as well as representatives of the Chinese armed forces with the guest of honor, deputy head of Chief of Staff Air Force Chinese People's Liberation Army Maj. Gen. Cheng Xifeng.
