    Authorized by the Council of Ministers, Poland’s cabinet, Ambassador Mirosław Gajewski signed the Articles of Agreement of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) on October 9th in Beijing.

    The agreement will be subject to ratification before it formally makes Poland member in the new international financial institution. The AIIB membership will strengthen Poland’s economic and political links to Asia, creating new business opportunities for Polish enterprises. The Ministry of Finance is entrusted with handling all AIIB-related matters on Poland’s behalf.


    The signing of AIIB’s Articles of Agreement, held in the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was witnessed by representatives of the MFA’s Department of Treaty and Law, Department of European Affairs, the Chinese Ministry of Finance, the AIIB Multilateral Interim Secretariat as well as diplomats of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.
