On the first day of his visit to China Grzegorz Czelej, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Senate, met with Wang Jiarui, Deputy Chairman of the CPPCC’s National Committee, and Jin Liqun, President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank.

During his talks with Wang Jiarui, Mr. Czelej, who concurrently serves as the Chairman of Polish-Chinese Parliamentary Group, underlined the excellent climate in political relations between Poland and China. He also pointed to the enormous potential of bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges. Polish-Chinese comprehensive strategic partnership should be translated into concrete economic cooperation projects, he argued, with infrastructure, food processing, environmental protection, tourism and education being the most promising areas.

During his visit to China, Grzegorz Czelej will meet a number of senior officials, including the Chairman of the NPC’s Standing Committee Zhang Dejiang. He will also visit two Chinese provinces: Hunan and Zhejiang, both notable for their dynamic economic development. The Deputy Speaker of the Senate is accompanied by representatives of both Houses of the Polish Parliament: Artur Soboń, MP, as well as Senators Grażyna Sztark and Adam Gawęda.
