Chronicles of Terror - one of the biggest collections of civilian testimonies of Polish citizens who testified before the Main Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes in Poland after World War II.

“Chronicles of Terror”, a portal created by the Witold Pilecki Center for Totalitarian Studies, is one of the biggest collections of civilian testimonies from Nazi-occupied Europe, featuring witness accounts of Polish citizens who testified before the Main Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes in Poland after World War II. They reflect the experience of thousands of Polish victims of Nazi terror, and of their families and loved ones.

Until recently, these materials were scattered and locked away in archives. The new portal, for the first time in history, allows access to these authentic stories of Poles during the World War II to a wider audience in Poland and all over the world. The portal promotes knowledge about the German occupation of Poland and preserves the memory of the victims of totalitarianism. Soon, it will also feature tragic stories of Poles suffering under Soviet occupation.

We encourage you to learn more about those difficult times.
